THEKER, a Barcelona-based AI robotics company, raised a Series A of €73 million, about $85 million, in June. CRV led the round, with Samsung, LVMH, Cathay Innovation, 20VC, Henkel Ventures, Korelya and Bright Pixel Capital also investing. Some outlets report the amount as €85 million; The Next Web gives €73 million, equal to $85 million. It is Samsung’s first investment in a Spanish company and CRV’s first in Spain, and it follows an €18 million seed round less than a year earlier.

THEKER builds generalist industrial robots that combine vision, control systems and large language models, and says they adapt to changing environments, mixed products and irregular shapes without manual reprogramming. It says they go live within days and keep learning during production. Co-founder Carla Gómez Cano said the company did not build THEKER “to run pilots” but to ship robots that work the day they arrive.

The company says its robots already run in live production across Europe, in manufacturing, logistics and retail, and plans to use the money to deepen its AI and robotics stack and hire across software, electronics, mechanical engineering and deployments. No customers are named, and the performance claims come from the company; whether the robots perform as advertised at scale remains an open question.
