Nvidia is disputing a New York Times report, published Thursday, October 29, which says U.S. spy agencies concluded last year that Alice Huang, an executive at Singapore-based data center company Megaspeed, passed information to Beijing while developing a close relationship with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. The two are not related.

According to coverage of the report, surveillance captured her communications with an American later identified as Jensen Huang through a process known as unmasking. The report rests on anonymous sources and has not been independently verified.

Nvidia said its regional cloud customers receive “ordinary business information — not sensitive NVIDIA trade secrets — and zero information relevant to national security,” and that earlier diversion allegations were “thoroughly investigated and debunked last year.” China’s Foreign Ministry called the report “groundless speculation.”

It remains unclear what information was allegedly passed, how valuable it was, or when.
