Fox has completed its $22 billion acquisition of Roku, according to TechCrunch, which reported the completion on November 6, 2026. The deal was first announced in June 2026, when the companies projected completion in the first half of 2027, so closing came much earlier than expected, per the report.

Timeline and terms

  • About two months before completion, the Justice Department issued a second request for more data and documents as part of its antitrust review. Earlier in the month, reports suggested the deal was nearing US regulatory approval, and completion was announced on Friday.
  • TechCrunch gives no other deal terms, such as how the purchase was paid for.

What Fox and Roku said

  • Roku reaches more than 100 million households, which Fox says gives it direct access to that audience.
  • Fox says the combined company is now the third-largest US television business by viewership, and it expects the audience access to improve ad targeting, strengthen its position in connected TV and reduce its dependence on traditional TV distribution.
  • Roku founder Anthony Wood said the company’s purpose is unchanged and its reach and resources are growing: “Our teams will keep building and innovating as they always have.”
  • The article does not describe any changes to leadership, brand or platform.
