China’s Wind and Solar Capacity Crosses a Symbolic Threshold

China’s combined wind and solar installed capacity crossed a symbolic threshold in September, the National Energy Administration announced on October 26.
China’s total installed power capacity reached 4.132 billion kilowatts by the end of September 2026, up 11.2% from a year earlier, according to SolarQuarter. New installations have slowed sharply in 2026 after an exceptionally strong 2025.
