Security Start-up Cathedral Says It Got Inside Anthropic’s Internal Systems

Cathedral, a months-old cybersecurity start-up, told Anthropic that its researchers had penetrated sensitive internal data and messaging systems at the company, The Washington Post reported on October 26, citing a draft report it reviewed.
According to later coverage, Anthropic says the exposed material, including salaries and internal messages, came through outside software it uses, not through access to its model weights.
Anthropic and Cathedral disagree over how complete the research reporting was and over the incident’s national security significance.
